Data visualizations created to portray screen usage for 24 hours based on an Apple Watch, TV, iPhone, and laptop and the reasons for each time the devices were used. Each visualization is designed to highlight different aspects of the data.  

How many times do we look at technological screens throughout the day? Do these screens interrupt or enhance our everyday lives? I collected data for every time that I caught myself looking at a screen of any kind throughout the course of 24 hours. I used a pencil and notebook to bring with me and each time I looked at a screen, I recorded the time, location, device, reason why, and how long I was looking at the screen.

After collecting the data, I started to sketch out different ways that I could visualize it. Some sketches were more vague than others, but as I began to put more and more ideas onto paper, I started to come up with more solidified ideas.
