Glow
Art Performacne

About
"Glow" is an artistic project, that was created laterally during the ASK Summer School workshops on the Modular Light Cloud project. The intention of cooperation between architects from the Warsaw University of Technology and contemporary dance artists Liwia Bargieł was to promote contemporary art with the help of impressionistic, responsible installation created by ASK.

Concept
The creative inspiration for "Glow" was taken from childhood memories and dreams of dancing, the motif of a dancer figure moving in a music box. The figurine is a symbol of dance, i.e. the expression and freedom of the body, but after a moment of reflection - also the limitations of the movement imposed by the mechanism. The figure moves with the discipline given by the mechanism until circumstances allow it to deviate from the imposed pattern.
Thanks to the appropriate, responsive preparation of the Modular Light Cloud installation, the dancer was able to break free from the designated place - given by the mechanism and interact with the machine. With movement, sound, and forms of chorographic expression, she symbolically expanded her space of experiences. Over time, the figurine became the subject that began to direct the mechanism according to its own expectations and intuition.
