Itech Helmet & Sheild

Working with Hubert Gagnon, several renderings and models (both CAD and physical) were created to develop the Itech product roadmap.
Half shield concept modeled in SolidWorks and SurfaceWorks. Rendering with PhotoWorks.
The full shield design explored the "v-lock". A proprietary locking system that allowed players to quickly and easily snap the shield into positon.
All shield designs featured a spherical lens that provided the best possible visibility.
A marker rendering of helmet concept prior to jumping into clay modeling.
Rendering with markers is really hard. Bless you technology and your beloved "undo".
Using Detroit Clay, a scale model was created to explore the fine details of the helmet design.
Fully integrated with the v-lock technology.
Borrowing from the Jofa design which was thought to be more ergonomically correct, this design sported a dominant front shell. Typical hockey helmets have the back plastic shell eating the front.
A lot of effort was put into the look and feel of the levers and buttons.
The tooth like openings were consistently applied throughout the design to give a bit of a menacing feel mixed with the perception of speed.
Yes. It was really heavy.
