Radical Optimism - from piet Mondrian

Collection is inspired by one of the pioneers of abstract and modern art… Piet Mondrian. His colorful, geometric designs have always screamed rag to me, as they pack a real punch without the need to build in huge amounts of detail. A series of cushions on the theme “Radical Optimism”. It is an interesting collection where I have taken the inspiration of form and geometric shapes from Piet Mondrian paintings that have been combined with my own color pallet to create Vivid and unexpected renditions.
Happiness is an emotion we crave, however recently feelings of fear and anxiety have been more prevalent. We expect this to change in the future as The New Optimists seek out joy and positivity through community engagement and activism. Forecast says that bright colors will be used more widely to communicate joy and happiness. Color preferences are subjective, inducing different emotions in each individual, however, research has shown that warmer tones of red, pink, orange, and yellow can evoke feelings of optimism and positivity.
The saturation of the hue can also lift energy levels. Bright color in particular can induce a feeling of excitement by raising our heart rate. “At our core, People believe in the power of bold and vibrant color to uplift our spirits and spark joy even from the confines of our home.” We have an opportunity to use color in its most powerful capacity, creating well being, connection, and impact.” The charity sees an opportunity to create change by painting neighborhoods with color and pattern that impart positive messages of optimism and hope
