Initially, four composition sketches were created for the cover of Alice in Wonderland. From left to right: 1. Alice falling into the den and the other characters composing her walls; 2. Capitulares being the basis for interactions, scenarios and characters; 3. The forest that initiates and continues the story represented by a large tree; 4. The characters composing the space opposite the lettering, which is larger in this version.
The next three colored covers were prioritized for discussion - the central option being developed.

The idea of using typography as a support for scenes and characters, previously conceived for the cover, was carried over to the illustrations seen between the chapters. In order for the space between text and image to be contemplated in a balanced way while reading, I created a list of moments capable of good illustrations and defined with Nathalia Laia, art director, which we would prioritize. Below the first sketches of the chosen scenes:

The first step in creating the scenes was to develop the capitulars, based on playing cards. From the drawing below the scenes would maintain the same scale until we reach the letter E, when Alice returns to its normal size.
