Ube Wine
Product of Brgy. Langcuas

Ube wine is made from fermented purple yam and is an original product made by the community members of Brgy. Langcuas in San Fernando, La Union. The brand name is UBEST which refers to the words 'ube' or purple yam, and best. The name refers to both their product and the community's drive to achieve excellence. The redesign of the packaging was shouldered by the city government to show continued support for the community and local economy.

We wanted the product to stand its ground next to imported wines so we kept the design bold, uncluttered, and representative of where it was made. The illustration, drawn by a young artist Jimmuel Cruz, is inspired by the landscape of the town as it captures the viewer at first glance. We kept to a simple color scheme for an overall impression that's more classic to balance the fact that this is a totally new product.
