The Value of Fine Art // Publishing & Editorial

As part of our Design Context brief, we were asked to create a publication showing our full understanding of a chosen design subject/area. I based my publication on the value of Conceptualist Fine Art, as this is a topic that I am already quite opinionated on and interested in.

I feel as though I produced the publication in such a way that one could really question the opinions expressed. I gained influences for the design work from previous Turner Prize publications, as well as a few books that were designed for Damien Hirst near the beginning of his adventure into the artistic world.

The publication was printed onto both tracing paper and a light, textured antique white stock to gain the finished effect. I hand bound the book with a coptic stitch, to give it more of an elegant and unique feel.

The publication was created along side my research and written essay into the topic.
