ID Practice: Tea light candle holder

Brief
On this project I was required to design tea light candle holder, the design should relate to the process of casting. The tea light candle holder is to be cast using a one part (or two part mold). The ideal material used for the mold part is a condensation curing silicone (other materials may also be used). I had to research and find out various molding methods and decide on a direction. I had an option to also use a secondary material (wood, metal, ceramic, plastic, etc.) so as to bring visual interest to my candle holder. The secondary material should be used sparingly.

My design should be aimed at the domestic environment and be inspired by either the 50’s, 60’s or 70’s period in which furniture design flourished and in which some of the evident styles are currently back in fashion. In other words it will be a retrospective exercise in design.
Mood-board
This mood-board has the 50's to 70's (Retro style) designs and products. I will use some of the design elements in this board to design my tealight candle holder that will suit the retro-era.
Conceptual drawings
These are ideas I came with using some of the design elements from tea light candle holders on my mood board.

Final Renders

I edited the edges of my model to avoid edge splitting and for safety. I rounded all my model edges and this design also looks pretty close to the Retro-Era designs.
These are my in-context renders.
