Illustration made for « The Resistance. Remembrance and Gratitude », a project inspired by the people who oposed the communist regime in Romania. The project was organised by Forum Apulum and the National Museum Cotroceni, under the patronage of the President of Romania. The exhibition brought to the public a gallery of portraits of former dissidents, heroic individuals as well as anonymous actors of change.

 

My illustration  recalls a moment of history - the rebellion of the workers from factories and plants in Brasov, targeted against Ceausescu’s economic policies. The revolt took place in 1987 local election day, two years before the Romanian Revolution.
