We Came In Peace designs and builds interactive experiential campaigns. The Tasting Table Artisan Access dinner series sponsored by MasterCard consisted of six private dinners held in a loft in Soho, each inspired by a New York food neighborhood.
A two story loft in Soho was the site for each dinner. The first floor featured a working kitchen where all dishes were prepared and a 40-foot long table which became a canvas for elaborate tablescapes. Upstairs an open plan allowed us to create one-of-a-kind experiences that highlighted the unique elements of the featured neighborhood.
Variation #1: The North Fork of Long Island
Known for it's wines and local farming, the theme for the North Fork was vineyards. We created a tabletop grape vine complete with real grapes.
Variation #2: The Hamptons
An easy beach vibe was key for the Hamptons dinner. Seashells scattered across the table and a message-in-a-bottle menu were highlights of the dining decor. The real treat was upstairs, though, where guests roasted marshmellows for gourmet s'mores while lounging in beach chairs and watching a real-time projection of the sun setting over the ocean.
Variation #3: The Brooklyn Flea Market
An eclectic, bohemian scene was the theme for this dinner. A hi-lo bodega-inspired tabletop prepared guests for the surprise upstairs: a mini flea market featuring custom silk-screen lessons.
Variation #4: Union Square Greenmarket
Passed hors d'oeuvres instead of a full dinner allowed guest plenty of time to enjoy the Greenmarket we recreated for them. Fresh fruits, veggies, flowers, and other treats were abundantly displayed for guests to take home in reusable goodie bags, while street buskers provided market-esque entertainment against an autumnal backdrop of dried rainbow corn cobs.
