UNFOLDING THE NEEDLE ART OF KANTHA
A craft cluster documentation on Kantha. We conducted an in-depth study of the process, techniques, lifestyle and socioeconomic conditions of the artisans. The main objective of this cluster activity was to study the handicraft of Kantha in detail and to derive interventions in all possible sectors for the further development of the cluster. Our objective was also to carry out a thorough study of the allotted areas, to gain a wider perspective and to evaluate the present status of the artisan community associated with the craft.
