There has been increasing attention across international settings for temporary use as a tool for activating underused urban space. In the current context of economic uncertainty, temporary use projects provide a viable alternative to significant financial investment. As planning and urban design strategies are typically been driven by long-term visions; with various barriers to their implementation exist, the planner and developer need to realise the remarkable role of the temporary uses and ephemeral architecture -Temporary Housing- can play in the development of slums, decreasing the conflict between dweller and authorities, the creation of convivial urban spaces, and the evolution of a city.
