Dot Drawing/ Stippling

Today we shall learn to make use of dots to make a drawing, this technique is also called stippling.
First of all, we are required to collect tools around the house to make dots with Chinese Ink.
Tools I found around the house are as listed:
-Hot Glue Stick
-Chopstick
-Big Paint Brush
-Small Paint Brush
-Straw
-Pen
-Screwdriver
-Cotton Swab
-Pencil
-Candle
-Toothpick
-Cigarette Bud

Here are the results of the tool testing:
Note : Most of them do pick up quite a lot of ink except candle, the wax makes it harder to control the quantity of the ink, so I may not use candle in future project. Most of them do make almost the same shape just have difference in size expect the cigarette bud, it has some texture into it.
This is a couple of attempts of making depth using stippling technique by using 1 point perspective and 2 point perspective with making use of different tools to make multiple sizes dots.
Here I try to create the illusion of tone and gradient by changing the frequency of the dots around it, more dots = darker area; less dots = brighter area.
By arranging the dots together in a path, it creates a sense of line, here is the example of horizontal and vertical line.
The two above are my attempt to create a sense of movement, the left is inspired from the frames of a bouncy ball. Meanwhile the one on the right is inspired from a circling movement as it gets smaller while spinning out.
Final completed artwork
This is an illustration made from toothpick and Chinese ink with a small part of cigarette bud. This image represent a hand holding a cigarette, as the cigarette slowly burning away, so does the hand slowly fading.
