Creative Programming

On fall of 2012 I took a class in the Digital+Media Department taught by Lauren McCarthy and Alex Olwalof the MIT Media Lab. The course “introduce programming as a medium for artistic and design practices” (class syllabus).

Bellow are some examples of the work created in the class.

The constitution in nouns was the final piece I presented for this class. I created a set of programs that parses through a text extracting and counting the nouns, then uses the data set created to conduct an image search in flickr – it was based on tags, to ensure some intentionality between the search and the result.
The image was placed inside a circle with the size determined by the number of time the image was repeated.
